This afternoon we went to see the newly released film: 'The Thief Lord' (original title 'Herr der Diebe') by the German author Cornelia Funke, who is very popular in German speaking Europe.
Kamilla loved the book and also the film. We enjoyed the film too. Once my sister finished the book I will read it too. The film was actually filmed with a British cast.
It seems the film will only be released as a DVD in North America this coming March. If you get a chance to get/rent a copy you might want to watch it. I will definitely get the DVD once it's released!

I can't believe that they made that into a movie! I love her books so much as does my ten year old cousin who has a large chunk of his German bookshelf devoted to them. Unlike him however, I have to settle for the English translations. I could try them auf Deutsch but I'm still plodding through my copy of 'Der Herre der Ringe: Die Gefahrten' that my father bought for me. Sigh.
